Principals Weekly Letter

December 6th, 2024

This week at ELS

It was good to see everyone back at school after our Thanksgiving break.  I pray that everyone was able to spend some time together with family and friends.  We are incredibly blessed and have so much to be thankful for here at ELS.

In preschool this week, I saw some early drop off friends exploring and looking for snails.  I also saw smiling faces and fresh haircuts.  In Kindergarten the Special Person of the week had a great project and students used chalk to make beautiful drawings of Christmas lights.  I saw first graders identifying singular and plural nouns.  2nd graders had a special day where they came as characters from a book.  3rd graders were busy with Language Art centers.  4th were quietly enjoying their DEAR time and earning some AR points.  5th graders were working on their weekly spelling list and reading a class novel.  6th graders did some work with Mixed Numbers.  7th and 8th graders working with Fractions, Decimals, Percents and proportions.  It’s hard to believe it’s already December!

Student Recognition

Congratulations to our student of the month recipients for October and November.  The character trait was Kokua; being helpful.  We also recognize our first ever member of the 500 Club for Accelerated Reader!  Well done!
