This week at ELS
I was able to stop in for story time in Mrs. Watson’s class, calendar time in Mrs. DeCoite’s class and snack time in Ms. Omura’s. Preschool was also busy with lots of potential new families making visits this week. Kindergarteners were working with words that rhyme and the long u sound. 1st graders moved on to prepositions this week. 2nd graders did a variety of math reviews, looking at symmetry, perimeter and even some fraction work. 3rd - 5th grade made their way to the MACC for Can-DO day. This day is a lot of fun and something we are very thankful that the MACC offers each year. 6th grade had a visit from Pastor Hosch as he shared about some of his missionary work in Peru. 7th graders finished a unit working with exponents and 8th graders looked at some of the effects of the Great Depression.
Calendar Correction
When making the 2025-2026 calendar, I mistakenly left Easter on the same day in 2026. A slight adjustment was made to the 2025-2026 calendar and it is now reflected on the website. Thank you to the kindergarten family who caught my calendar mishap. :)
Summer Camp
Mrs. Davenport will be opening up our Summer Camp to families who do not attend ELS on April 22nd. Please go to the school website to sign up for Childcare during the summer months.
Chapel Offerings
Our Chapel offerings for the 4th quarter will again go to Branch Lutheran School. To date we have collected $105.74 to support their “Food Fund”.
Golf Tournament
This week we were able to add a number of new sponsors and players! We’ve still got a long way to go.
Please consider sponsoring a hole, recruiting players, making a prize donation (gift cards are great prizes) or volunteering.
Here are the digital forms
Note: Please include Player Handicap. This will be a part of the scoring but is not on the sign up sheet.
